Like a hitchhiker on a dark lonely highway, its time to meet your Lover! Hailing from Newcastle, NSW, Lover are a three piece gloom-pop-indie-rock act drawing inspiration from the likes of The Cure, The Killers and Bloc Party. Lover are a reputed hard-working band, constantly touring the east coast over the past 12 months, performing alongside Datarock (Norway), Lost Valentinos, Midnight Juggernauts, Damn Arms, Young & Restless, Dukes Of Windsor, Mercy Arms, Expatriate, British India, Sparkadia, The Mess Hall, Teenagers In Tokyo & After The Fall. Their 2007 self titled debut release, turned heads with the award winning dance floor cutter ‘NEVER’ (2006 ABC Newcastle Music Awards, Best Rock Performance), recorded under the sonic guidance of four time ARIA award nominee Rob Taylor (The Whitlams, INXS). Their 2nd EP “Face In Colour” is due to be released on September 6 through Green Media Distribution. The 5 track EP was recorded by Rob Taylor, once again, in late 2007. It showcases a more mature approach from the 3 piece and has already secured solid airplay on FBI and Triple J.
