Former Child Stars
Conceived late 2006, Former Child Stars are an independent 5 piece indie rock band from Adelaide. The group was formed by childhood friends Ed Mitchell, Todd Andrews and Luke O'Loughlin. The lineup was completed by bassist Jade Eley and Dan Wiggins on the drums. Since forming, the band has developed a strong following in the Adelaide live music scene, pulling capacity crowds at venues such as Rocket Bar, Jive and Jade Monkey. FCS recently released their debut EP, which was recorded at HotHouse Studio in St Kilda, Melbourne by engineer Finn Keane (Souls On Board, theredsunband & SubAudible Hum). "We wrote and recorded most of this EP during the height of the St. Kilda summer, and we think that fun, summery feeling comes through in the music.". The EP showcases their unique brand of indie pop which is full of hooks and harmonies and dancey beats, in a similar vain to bands such as Phoenix and Hot Hot Heat. With an average age of 21, this young band has a promising future. The self-titled debut EP features photography by acclaimed film director/photographer Scott Hicks.
